It is with immense pride and a deep sense of accomplishment that Team ADCI takes part of the journey to restore one of Madison's most iconic landmarks: the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

In May 2024, the church's original wooden steeple was struck by lightning, resulting in significant fire and water damage. For abuilding completed in 1869, the city's oldest Catholic church, this was devastating. The original structure, with its Romanesque style and local sandstone, is a beautiful part of the cityscape.

The restoration project was a delicate balance of preserving historical integrity while incorporating modern construction and safety standards. Our goal was not simply to rebuild but to ensure this historic structure stands strong for another century or more.

The new steeple, a 48-foot, steel-framed structure topped with a 10-foot cross was hoisted into place this week. This new design replaces the previous wooden structure with more durable materials, ensuring greater resilience against future weather events. The four clock faces, a welcome scene to downtown residents since their installation in 1881, are also a key part of the new design.
