This project features a 74,000 SF manufacturing addition designed to significantly expand the production capacity of the existing facility. The new structure is a pre‑engineered metal building, seamlessly integrated with the current post‑and‑beam facility to function as one unlimited‑area building. To support operations, the existing service drive was extended, allowing trucks direct access to the new loading docks and a convenient exit to the adjacent side street.
A key design challenge was connecting the addition to the existing building while accommodating the grade change between the two structures. The solution was a thoughtfully designed link that not only bridges the elevation difference but also creates a drive‑through bay within the building. This bay houses a large overhead crane capable of loading materials directly onto trucks, improving efficiency and workflow.
This cost‑effective expansion delivers the additional space EK Machine required, enhances internal connectivity, and resolves the site and structural challenges encountered during design, all while supporting the company’s continued growth.
