This state-of-the-art pre-engineered metal building houses the City’s Public Works (PW) and Parks & Recreation (PR) departments. Creating efficiencies, protecting assets and safeguarding staff were three main drivers behind the project. The new campus includes the PW/PR main building, a cold storage facility, a salt and sand storage building, and indoor/outdoor apparatus wash stations.
Inside, the main building includes:
- Bays for up to 30 large apparatus plus smaller equipment
- An indoor high-performance wash bay
- A large plumbing supply room & a brine operations room
- A maintenance shop, welding shop, sign shop, and barricade storage
- Offices, a break/training room and a staff locker room
- Small equipment storage, office space and a maintenance bay (PR portion
This project features unique solutions to maximize ROI and improve operational efficiency and worker safety, such as the onsite brine-mixing facility, rail and jib cranes to handle large equipment more safely, a high-performance wash bay to extend the life of equipment, and in-floor heating and translucent daylight panels throughout the building for increased energy efficiency.
