When the City of Viroqua selected ADCI to design their new City Hall, the first step in the process was a series of meetings with City staff and the public to elicit stakeholder input and determine key directions such as location and scope.

ADCI acted as a facilitator to reach consensus as a myriad of options were discussed, including the potential purchase of existing buildings with intent to renovate, and the potential aquisition of a bare site for new construction.

Once the optimal site location was identified, project design began with stakeholders championing a progressive vision that reflected the city’s vibrant nature and desire for forward movement. The Hall needed to be inviting to residents, while also offering efficient function for City staff.

In addition to City Hall operations, the facility houses a FEMA-rated safe room to be utilized by city residents as a shelter during severe weather events. ADCI assisted the city in obtaining the federal grant that funded the safe room.

The final product is a facility that accommodates multiple functions elegantly and serves as a cornerstone of the community.
